The People’s Residency (Chinese Arts Centre)

The People’s Residency is an artist-in residency scheme whereby the public are invited to become members and vote for the artist who they’d like to live and work at The Chinese Arts Centre in Manchester, UK.The initial brief was to create a website with graphics which would inform and invite potential members to the new residency scheme. We created the thermometer device to reflect the fundraising nature of the program and to represent the 100 members of ‘The People’s Residency’. Features of the website include; e-commerce, members area, galleries and events calendar.
The graphic device and style were then applied to flyer and exhibition stand design for Manchester’s ‘Buy Art Fair’ event 2011.
